About The Counselor

My name is Seleah Crosland and I am a licensed professional counselor. I became interested in Psychology after taking a course as an elective in high school. I majored in Psychology at the University of South Carolina and after graduation worked at group home for abused and neglected children. Shortly, I began working on a Masters Degree in Counseling. Since then, I have obtained over 10 years of experience working with various populations and issues including at-risk youth, couples, individuals, frustrated parents, students with disabilities, domestic violence, career development, stress reduction, depression, anxiety, divorce, parenting, self-esteem and confidence.

I know from first hand experience that good relationships are essential to your happiness and emotional health. The most important part of any healthy relationship is communication and feeling good enough about yourself to know that you deserve a healthy relationship and ALL encounters are relationships. You are strengthening or weakening relationships all of the time. The relationships that weigh most heavily on your heart are your relationship with yourself, your children, spouse, parents, in-laws,
co-workers, or supervisor. When these relationships are not healthy, you can feel disconnected, frustrated, overwhelmed and angry.

As a parent, you want your teen to do well and mature into a happy, healthy and whole individual. Despite your best efforts, however, few will pass through adolescence without some challenges. Most are resolved over time and are a temporary challenge. Sometimes, however, you and teen may need outside help.
